Michael Hoss in 1788 and they moved to Logan and Simpson Co., KY where they settled on a farm near her brothers.  Their six children were born there.  William G. Igo was b. Jan 15, 1810 and Lewis M. Igo was b. ca 1811 in Logan County.  There were four daughters: Rachel, Catherine and two others (names unknown).  Jacob Igo enlisted in the 17th U.S. Infantry in April 1814 and served in the War of 1812.  His military papers described him as 6' 1-1/2" tall, blue eyes, dark hari and complexion.  He had a broken arm when mustered out in June, 1815, in Ohio.  He asked for bounty land in Missouri but was given land in Prairie Co., AR.  The Igo family lived in Sumner Co., TN after the war and then moved back to Logan or Simpson Co., KY.  About 1826, the Igo, Anson, and Hoss families migrated to Pike co., MO, settling in South buffalo Township near Louisiana.  By 1840 these families were in Lincoln Co., MO.  Elizabeth Anson Igo probably died there ca1842.  Jacob Igo died after the 1850 Census where he was living in Pike County again.  Henry and Elizabeth Pierly Anson and Francis and Sally O'Neill Anson lived in Simpson County before moving to Missouri.

Item 37: Simpson County Families Past and Present 1819-1989, Compiled by Simpson Co. Historical Society, Franklin, Kentucky, Researched and prepared by Bernice Garner McCown: McCown-Owings: Early settlers in Simpson county were Isaac and Rebekah Owings McCown.  They made their home on Drakes Creek while it was still part of Logan County, after being married on Jan. 18, 1811 in Sumner Co., TN, just acress the state line.  Isaac was born in 1785 in Montgomery co., VA, son of James McCown (1746-1825) and his wife, Jane.  James McCown served in the Revolutionary War 1776-1779 from Rockbridge Co., VA.  Muster rolls show that he was at Valley Forge.  He apparently lived with his son, Isaac, in his old age, for he drew a pension in Logan County 1818-19.  Isaac's grandparents were Francis (1715-1761) and Margaret Patterson McCown, who emigrated from Ulster, Ireland, as part of the Scotch-Irish settlement in Orange Co., VA in 1739.  Rebeckah Owings was the daughter of Joshua (1765-1817) and Reganah Speers Owings who moved to the Drakes Creek area around 1804 from Bourbon Co., KY.  Joshua Owings was the son of Rev. Richard Owings and wife, Rachel, of Baltimore Co., MD.  Reganah Speers was the daughter of Henry Speers of Washington Co. PA.  Court Records show that Isaac McCown was active in local affairs; he served on many juries, was a landowner and farmer.  He was appointed one of three trustees for the building of the first Methodist Meeting House in Simpson Co. on 13.4 acres of land located at the Sinking Fork of Drakes Creek, donated by James and Mary Young Stevenson in 1816..............The McCown's were parents of 12 children, seven of whom were born in the Drakes Creek area.  They were: Isaac, married Isabella Jackson; James Patton, married Lucinda Isaacs; Louisa, married Calvin Jeans; Mary, marriedJames Adcocks; John, married Elizabeth Jackson; Elizabeth, married Phillip Bulock; Miles Harper, m.
